Eagle Public Library Foundation Board Member job description

Each Foundation Board Member has general duties and responsibilities that subsequently combine to generate the level of effectiveness and the quality and character/integrity of the Eagle Public Library Foundation.

They are as follows:

  • Recruit and select additional complementary board members
  • Adopt and update bylaws
  • Create goals and objectives — short and long term
  • Review and adopt policies and programs that further the mission of the Eagle Public Library
  • Create and approve fundraising plans
  • Participate in fundraising events and secure the interest, service and financial support of others who appreciate the Eagle Public Library’s mission and programs
  • Monitor and approve a budget and financial policies
  • Understand and demonstrate a commitment to the organization’s mission and programs
  • Keep up to date with issues and trends that affect the organization
  • Attend Foundation Board meetings regularly; be fully prepared and actively participate
  • Contribute your skills, knowledge, and abilities by participating in Foundations projects that successfully move the Foundation forward
  • Avoid potential conflicts of interest
  • Understand and maintain confidentiality
  • Help ensure that the Foundation complies with legal and regulatory requirements
